and escape from the Roman trap they built around the oppidum of Alesia to fight another
day? Or will you meet the same fate and find yourself imprisoned in the
Tullianum in Rome only to be paraded one final time during Caesar's Gallic triumph?

== Victory Conditions ==
To win a decisive victory the Gallic player must accomplish the following before the end of turn 30:

• Manage to get Vercingetorix off the ‘Mandubii Land’ map and he, or his bodyguards, capture one of the 4 'cities' on the 'To Gaul' map, and

• Kill 22 or more Roman 'legionary' type units.

You can suffer an automatic decisive defeat if either:

• Vercingetorix is killed in combat, or

• The Gauls are unable to create a breach of the Roman outer defenses by the end of turn 10, or

• Vercingetorix fails to escape the circumvallation zone by the end of turn 23, or

• At anytime, the Gallic losses exceed 135 units, or

• Vercingetorix fails to escape to the 'To Gaul' map and capture one of its four cities by the end of turn 30.

You can secure a draw if:

• You failed to capture one of the 4 cities on the ‘To Gaul’ map by the end of the scenario but managed to either kill Julius Caesar OR killed 28 ‘legionary’ type units or more.

There are no house rules in this scenario other than not using the cheat menu to view the Roman defensive dispositions.

IMPORTANT - This game is designed to be played as the Gallic player ONLY.

IMPORTANT - The scenario has been designed around TheNamelessOne's TOTPP version 0.18.4 located [[https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/the-test-of-time-patch-project.517282/]]. You must have it installed to play the game

VERY IMPORTANT - You must install the lua folder, which is included in the v 0.18.4 ZIP file (and which includes the civlua.lua, functions.lua and init.lua files), in the root directory of your Civilization Test of Time folder

OPTIONAL - You may run the “Alesia_rules.bat” batch file and select option #2 before you begin the game if you wish to play the game at a higher level of difficulty!

== Downloads ==

Install version 1.0 into a 'Battle of Alesia' folder in your ToT main folder.
