A1. The first thing you should do is 'bump' into the question mark next to Bag End. Have a look around inside your house if you like but don't start changing anything. You'll only regret it.

A2. You start your journey at the extreme left of the map. Your journey is to the other side of the map - the extreme right - a place called Rivendell.

A3. 'Bump' into the question mark next to the ferry landing spot. Don't try to 'bump' the landing itself - it's just a marker for your reference. The ferry should then appear on the river and you can jump onto it. Cross the river to the landing on the other side. Once again, don't hit the landing itself, it's just a graphic, land next to it.

A4. Strider is waiting for your arrival at the Prancing Pong Inn at Bree.

A5. Gandalf is also making his way to Rivendell. He is looking for you, but in the story, manages to overtake you. If you are fast enough you should be able to catch up with him at Weathertop, next to the ruins of the Tower of Amon Sul. If you do not make it to the Tower before the end of the eleventh day (hour 264) he will have gone.

A6. There are many Barrows on the Downs, some are more dangerous than others - some contain loot and others don't. One of the Barrows is key to escaping from the Downs. It is the one closely surrounded by fog on two sides.
After your confrontation there, Tom Bombardil should appear. 'Bump' into him and he'll clear some fog so you may escape to the road.

A7. Glorfindel is on the road searching for Frodo. He can be found just prior to where the road dips for the final time.

A8. Ha, ha, ha, ha! Rabon Gumm is an old MERP RPG character created by my cousin. He was a hobbit of the Shire who went on adventures (when he wasn't baking loaves or being chased by bigger hobbits). He had some incredible escapades: one time finding himself wandering about inside Dol Guldur - even felling a Captain of the Guard with one shot from his trusty slingshot: stunning everyone in the chamber, friend and foe alike, into silence, which he then broke with the line, "..I ...I meant no harm!"
Alas, his wanderings came to an end when we stopped playing RPG's, but I like to think that such a great character still lives on in Middle-earth somewhere.
:) ...Hey, I'm allowed!

(NB: MERP = Middle Earth Role Play).
